Mabel E. Rousey, 85 of Savoy, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Mrs. Rousey was born July 3, 1924 in Urbana, the daughter of Oliver and Ethel (Manuel) Clark. She married John Thomas Rousey on January 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 1957. She is survived by Daughters; J. Kay (Bill) Gilliland of Savoy and Joyce (Ed) Whitlatch of Urbana, grandchildren; Laurie (Jim) Kwiatkowski of Urbana, Amy (Jason) James of Champaign, Elizabeth Eades of Bement, Kimberly Taylor of Atlantic Beach, Fla. and Tamara (Ken) Scrimager of Farmer City; Mabel was blessed with ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; sisters; Rose Marie Gillen of Champaign and Mildred McWethy of Champaign, brothers; Robert Clark of Champaign and Forest Clark of Champaign. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brother and one sister.

Mabel retired after twenty five years with Illinois Bell Telephone. She also enjoyed working part time for Fritz Flower Shop in Urbana for forty five years. Her favorite hobbies were gardening and crafts. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. There will be no visitation and a private memorial service will planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania Ave. Baptist Church, Urbana. Arrangements are being handled by Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd, Urbana.
