Obituary

M. Ruth Mahannah 96 of Urbana died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her son's home in Savoy.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, Chaplain Vera Duncanson will officiate. Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. A reception will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mahannah was born on July 16, 1917 in Fisher, the daughter of Henry Moses and Beulah Vista Thomas Armstrong. She married Roy Rayot Mahannah on December 13, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio; he died on September 28, 1974.

Survivors include four children; Ronald Roy (Charlotte) Mahannah of St. Joseph, Mary Ellen (Norm) Schuler of Mandeville, Louisiana, Roger Jay (Kay) Mahannah of Savoy and Janet Lee (William Jones) Mahannah of Sweden, Maine, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Mrs. Mahannah graduated from Foosland Grade School and Fisher High School in 1935.

She was a teacher's aide and clerk for Urbana School District #116.

Mrs. Mahannah was a member of Webber Street Church of Christ, Urbana, a Boy Scout Den Leader, Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, Sunday school teacher and had a life membership in the Urbana PTA.
