Ly Hemsouvanh 81 of Champaign died at 8:04 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held from Noon - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hemsouvanh was born on January 1, 1933 in Laos, the son of Phoui and Tanghoun Hemsouvanh.

Survivors include eleven children; Chanthavorn, Saysamone, Rasamy, Pathana, Mahalakhone, John, Simone, Kaisone, Ling, Lai, Na, one brother; Khamkhane, two sisters; La and Khamkhay, twenty seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three children and five brothers and sisters.

Mr. Hemsouvanh was a former police captain in Laos.

He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
