Lucy Ann Walters, 70, of Champaign, passed away July 24, 2010 at home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 30, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. Rev. Vera Ducanson will officiate. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Lucy was born in Ohio on September 18, 1939 to Oscar J. Alltop and Mildred L. (Parish) Franklin. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Alltop; stepfather, Charles Franklin; husband James O. Walters Sr.; brother, John Alltop; son; Patrick Allen Walters; and grandsons, James Walters III, and Steven Hartleben.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Franklin; sister, Francis Dettmer; brother, David Alltop; son James O. (Shelly) Walters Jr.; daughter, Judy (George) Dehn; son, Philip (Brenda) Walters; grandchildren, Anthony, Timothy, James, Michael, and David; and two great grandchildren, Eric and Gavin.

Lucy A. Walters was married to James O. Walters Sr. for 42 years. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook, sew, and collect dolls and cookie jars. She was very out doorsey and loved flowers and gardening.
