Lucy Emma Burgin, 86 of Urbana died at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Rev. Gary Gritton will officiate. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burgin was born on May 20, 1921 in West Liberty, Kentucky, the daughter of William and Ora Perry Byrd. She married Mack O. Self on July 15, 1940, he died in 1940, she then married Neil Burgin on May 12, 1962 and he died on August 18, 1990.

Survivors include a daughter; Lucinda Ann Collins of Urbana, two sons; Mack Allen (Jane) Self of Urbana and Jeffrey Neal (Rhonda) Burgin of Sidney, a step daughter; Sharon Horney of Urbana, seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and four step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers, three sisters and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Burgin graduated from Moore Township High School in Farmer City.

Lucy was employed as a cook and lunchroom manager for 30 years with the Mansfield and Urbana School Districts where she will be remembered for her great cooking, especially her homemade rolls.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Urbana, Urbana Senior Club and the Illiana Organiers of Danville.

Lucy always cherished her many special friends and her entire life was devoted to caring for her entire family.
