URBANA, IL- Lucile Leona Scheffler, 89, of Urbana, died at 5:00PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM, Monday, March 26, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Rev. Roger Digges will officiate. Burial will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM, Sunday evening at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Monday (10-11AM).

Mrs. Scheffler was born January 6, 1918 at Philo, a daughter of Martin G. and Sarintha Gardner Brown. She married Frederick P. Scheffler on December 6, 1944 in Philo. He died January 13, 2003. She is survived by a daughter: Elaine Marcia Carman (James) of Illinois and Arizona, a granddaughter: Amy Jo Rumsey (Michael) of Urbana, IL and 2 great grandchildren: Vanessa Rumsey(12) and Jeremy Rumsey(7), both of Urbana.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, a nephew and a niece.

Mrs. Scheffler attended Philo Grade School and High School and graduated from Urbana High School in 1935. She worked at Scott's Store in Urbana and at Duncan Erber Photography Studios in Champaign prior to her marriage. She was a homemaker and in later years, worked at Montgomery Wards in Urbana. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting, gardening, traveling and going to concerts. She taught everyone that family was very important.
