Louis Earl Buchka 86 of Urbana died at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Kinmundy.

Mr. Buchka was born on June 22, 1928 in St. Louis, the son of John F.L. and Irma Mae Quick Buchka. He married Lois Jean Alexander on November 26, 1953 in Kinmundy, she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter; Jill Ann (James G.) Cantrell of Urbana, one brother; James E. Whitt of Wardsville, Missouri, two half-brothers; Rich Buchka and Wilbert Buchka both of Cuba, Missouri and one grandson; Dylan J. (Kerry) Cantrell of Urbana.

He was preceded in death by his step-father; William James Whitt and one half-sister; Margaret Richardson.

Mr. Buchka was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict where he was a Corporal.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Urbana.

Mr. Buchka enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He retired from Hallbeck Homes, Champaign for over 36 years.
