Lorraine D. Lindner, 90, of Urbana, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, Urbana.

Lorraine was born in Chicago on June 8, 1924 to parents Raymond and Mary (Durchanek) Lindner. They preceded her in death. Lorraine is survived by her cousins: Marlene (Larry) Book, Georgia Adams, Tom (Ruth) Book, Wesley (Kim) Book, Gayle Silvers, Tori Damjanovic, and Jacob (Rena) Adams.

Lorraine graduated from Oak Park High School and from Illinois Masonic Hospital with her degree in nursing. She served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a flight nurse. Lorraine retired from Borg Warner after many years.

Lorraine always had a common sense approach to things; she loved to play cards and loved flowers. She cared for her parents until they died. She considered that her greatest achievement.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Lorraine's name to the Salvation Army or to the Meadowbrook Auxiliary at Clark-Lindsey Village.
