Lorman Ratner, 74, of Champaign died at 3:24 P.M. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday July 17 from 5-7 P.M. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. There will be no other services.

Lorman Ratner was born July 23, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY a son of Mortimer and Lillian Kruger Ratner. He married Paula Kaufman on September 17, 1989 in Knoxville, TN. She survives.

He is survived by four children Wendy Macmullen of New Egypt, NJ, Todd Ratner of Virginia Beach, VA, Chris Ratner of Knoxville, TN, Matthew Ratner of Knoxville, TN, Two brothers William Becker of Seattle, WA, Paul Becker of Port Towson, WA, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Nina Ratner.

Lorman Ratner was an Historian and University Administrator at the U of I. Memorials may be made to the U of I Library.
