Loretta Mae Ewing, 86, of Urbana, formerly of Thomasboro, died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Newman Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Newman.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Rev. Michael Smith will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Ewing was born September 16, 1922 in Champaign, the daughter of Charles Bessie Donahue Weeks. She married Gaylord Ewing October 8, 1948 in Urbana and she preceded her in death on January 3, 1972. She is survived by a sister-in-law-Mary Weeks of Monticello, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Wayne Shaw, daughter, Marlene Allison and a brother, Robert Oscar Weeks.

Mrs. Ewing attended Urbana Grade School and Champaign High School. She was a meat wrapper at Eisner Grocery Store and a secretary for Dowell Ag. Services.
