Lois A. Alvey 77 of Urbana died at 4:05 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alvey was born on May 25, 1935 in Louisville, the daughter of Herman and Opal Compton King. She married C. Leo Alvey on February 16, 1955 in Urbana; he died on September 11, 1976.

Survivors include one daughter; Pamela (Ron) Hartke of Urbana, two sons; Thomas Alvey of Urbana and Stephen Alvey of Chicago, one sister; Shirley Kotcella of Tucson, Arizona, two granddaughters; Amanda of Champaign and Katie of Austin, Texas and one great granddaughter; Bria.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Alvey retired from Patterson Dental in 1998.

She loved gardening.
