Obituary

Lloyd L. Wolf 89 of Sidney died at 2:53 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2009 at Carle Arbours Nursing Home, Savoy.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, St. Joseph. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wolf was born on September 26, 1919 in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Arthur and Minnie Stroeschoen Wolf. He married Elizabeth (Peggy) Roys on January 20, 1942 in Volga, IA, she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters Margaret Wolf of Bloomington, Teresa Bestvina of Carmel, IN and Janet Wolf of St. Joseph, one son; Bill Wolf of Wake Forest, NC, one brother; Wallace R. Wolf of Troy, MI, one half brother; Marvin Wolf of Oostburg, WI and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one half brother.

Mr. Wolf graduated from the Detroit Institute of Technology, received his Masters degree from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and attended the University of Illinois.

He was a special education teacher and principal.

Mr. Wolf was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II having served in the China, India and Burma Theater for five and a half years.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, American Cancer Society, St. Joseph United Methodist Church or the Sidney Library.
