Lionel F. Strait 75 of Urbana died at 8:25 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville; Pastor James Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Beckman Cemetery, Thomasboro. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stairt was born on January 22, 1939 in Urbana the son of Ira Lionel and Mildred Ellen McDevitt Strait. He married Joyce Joan Sage on October 2, 1960 in Flatville, she died on January 24, 2014.

Survivors include two daughters; Kimberly A. (Pat) Barth of Potomac and Emily M. (Mark) Miracle of Hutsonville, Kentucky and three grandchildren; Bethany, Ross and Shelby.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

Mr. Strait retired from Carle Foundation Hospital as an X-Ray Technician.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville and the Champaign County Bass Masters Club of Tolono. He also loved fishing, bowling and model trains.
