Linda S. Ward, 53 of Oakwood died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; the Rev. Ed Logan will officiate. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Mahomet. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ward was born on July 19, 1957 in Champaign, the daughter of Dean and Florence Hiner Davis. She married Gary Ward on May 6, 1987 in Bondville, he survives.

Also surviving are her mother of Mahomet, a daughter; Megan Ward of Oakwood, one brother; Tim Davis of Mahomet and one sister; Diana Davis of Oakwood.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Ward was a customer service manager for Eisner, Jewel and County Market for over 35 years.

She loved her family, friends, gardening and decorating for the holidays.

The family would like to thank all of those who prayed for her during her courageous 3 year battle with her disease. Also, a special thanks to the oncology staffs at Carle Cancer Center and St. Vincent Oncology Center for maintaining her quality of life. Last but not least, our Lord Jesus Christ for allowing us the extra time with this very special person.
