Leonard E. Wilson, 92, of Urbana, passed away at 7:10 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Patterson Cemetery in St. Joseph, Illinois. Pastor Ricky Spindler will officiate.

Mr. Wilson was born October 5, 1925 in Urbana, Illinois to parents Fred and Anna (Brazelton) Wilson. He married Elizabeth L. Harton June 30, 1952 in Angola, Indiana; she preceded him in death December 2, 2000. Survivors include sons, Leonard E Wilson, Jr (Denise) of Philo, IL, Earl Scott Wilson (Kathy), of Oakwood, Illinois, Chris Wilson (Julie), of Kentucky, and brother, Donald L. Wilson, of Jayton, Texas. Three grandchildren, Stefanie Anderson (Nick), Christopher Wilson (Carrie), Ryan Wilson (Alisha), four step grandchildren, Steven Carder (Meredith), Stephanie Dunn (Joe), Stacy Norton (Jason), Katiesha Kress (Tim), three great grandchildren, Elizabeth Anderson, Maxwell Wilson and Carson Wilson, ten step great grandchildren Jared Dunn, Hunter Dunn, Hannah Dunn, Caitlin Dunn, Zachary Norton (Heather), McKayla Norton, Ella Carder, Ava Carder, Liza Carder and Elias Kress, also survive. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, daughter, Caprice L. Wilson, and grandson, Jeremiah Wilson.

After graduating high school, Leonard honorably served his country during World War II, then worked as a mechanic, and a union plumber. He was also a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 149, and the Urbana V.F.W. Post 630. His favorite pastimes were gardening, traveling, and taking walks.
