Lella Ruth Lancaster, 95, of Urbana passed away November 22, 2022 at home.

Funeral services for Lella will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday November 29, 2022 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Pastor Hank Sanford will officiate. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Mansfield.

Lella was born in Mansfield, IL on Oct. 23, 1927, to Roy and Ruth (James) Bateman. She married Karl Lancaster on Sep. 26, 1948 in Farmer City.

She is survived by her son, David Lancaster of Urbana; two daughters, Karla Beck of Mesa, AZ, Gail Millikan of Urbana; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother; Arthur Bateman of Urbana, two sisters; Miriam Wright of Tucson, AZ, and Margaret Kemplin of Mansfield, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Lancaster; her parents; four siblings; Marjorie Graham, Amy Hensold, Irvin Bateman, and Stanley Bateman.

Lella retired from the University of Illinois. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, but more than anything - spending time with her family.
