Lawrence "Larry" Masso, 67, of Urbana, passed away at 12:22 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital, surrounded by family.

He was born on January 27, 1959, in Kankakee, Illinois, the son of Ronald and Lois (Holschuh) Masso.

Larry is survived by his son, Josh Masso, and daughter, Shaina Masso, both of Surprise, Arizona; his special friend, Sarrie Paguirigan of Redwood City, California; his siblings, Terry Wince of Wisconsin, Gary Masso of Illinois, and Randy Masso of Arizona; and his grandchildren, AlexZis,Tyrel, Karsyn, Trey, Jamarion, Moses, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Lois (Holschuh) Masso.

Larry attended school in Kankakee and Pontiac, Illinois, and graduated from Pontiac High School in 1977. He attended WyoTech in Wyoming to become an automotive mechanic. After trade school, he worked as a mechanic for several years and later operated a Goodyear store for many years. He then worked at Columbia Street Roastery and most recently at Blend & Brew as a Bourbon Meister.

Larry had a passion for collecting bourbon and firearms. He enjoyed track and field, scouting, and 1970s and 1980s rock music, and spending time with friends and family. One of his most prized possessions was his beloved car, Moody Blue II.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, IL 61802. A reception will be held following the service at the funeral home.
