Lawrence Nelson Cooper, 66 of Urbana died at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview; Robert Harries will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cooper was born on May 2, 1947 in Urbana, the son of Lancer and Betty Edwards Cooper.

Survivors include his father of Urbana, one brother; Frank Cooper of Urbana and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister; Janet Spohn.

Mr. Cooper was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He worked as a janitor.

Mr. Cooper was a member of the First Baptist Church of Urbana.

He loved music and played the violin.
