Lawrance Collins 87, of Philo died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, the Rev. Larry Dean and the Rev. Leland Collins officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:0 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Collins was born on January 11, 1920 in Somerset, Kentucky, the son of James M. and Annie Parson Collins. He married Stella Pearl Gaines on March 20, 1937 in Monticello, IL; she died on September 29, 2000.

Survivors include two sons: Larry Collins of Inverness, Florida and Randy Collins of Philo, IL, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, one granddaughter, six brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Collins was a machine operator for Clancy construction for 38 years.

He was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of the Curtis Road Church of God, Champaign.
