Laverne Irene Hinton 78 of Champaign formerly of Urbana died at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hinton was born on January 18, 1934 in Saybrook, the daughter of Moss Kelly and Bertie Mae Spangler Hale. She married Dwight Hinton on August 31, 1954 in San Francisco, California; he died on April 25, 1999.

Survivors include two sons; Tim Hinton of Urbana, Jeff Hinton of Champaign, one daughter; Becky (Don) Berg of Champaign, one sister; Dorothy Porter of Champaign and two grandchildren; Michael Joyce and Zachary Berg.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Hinton Owned Irene's Beauty Salon, Urbana.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Urbana and the American Legion Auxiliary, Champaign.

Mrs. Hinton loved Bingo, her computer, fishing, baking and cooking.
