Mahomet, IL- LaVerna Elizabeth Daugherty, 98, of Mahomet, formerly of Urbana, died at 8:25 A.M., Monday, October 08, 2007 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 12, 2007 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Rev. Michael Smith will officiate. Burial will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.

Mrs. Daugherty was born April 13, 1909 at Peoria, a daughter of George W. and Katie Oetzel Schuck. She married Charles T. Daugherty in 1928 at Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Hayes and husband, Jack of Mahomet; two grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Tiffin of Urbana. She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, three sisters and a brother.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Provena Hospice.
