Laura M. Phillips 78 of Urbana died at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Phillips was born on September 30, 1930 in Urbana, the daughter of John and Velma Robbins James. She married Sylvan Phillips on November 23, 1948 in Englewood, Colorado, he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters; Wenda Speers of Urbana and Robin Divan of St. Joseph, two sons; Guy Phillips of Urbana and Jay Phillips of O'Fallon, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana.

She enjoyed camping, fishing and dancing.
