MAHOMET, IL- Larry K. Watkins, 75, of Mahomet, IL, went to be with the Lord at 4:49 A.M., Wednesday, September 26, 2012.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 501 W. State St., Mahomet, IL. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry was born April 25, 1937 in Moweaqua, IL, a son of Kenzil and I. Pauline (Jackson) Watkins. He married Mary Louise Stefano on March 18, 1967 in LaCresent, Minnesota. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Christopher and wife, Celene Watkins of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matthew Watkins of Mahomet and fiancAC., Jennifer R. Molano of Hurricane, W.V, and Nicholas Watkins of New York City; Three grandchildren, Luke, Maria and Elise Watkins, and two sisters, Cynthia Towler and husband, Gary of Normal, IL and Teddy Scott and husband, Jim of Findlay, IL; One sister-in-law, Barbara Watkins of Shelbyville, IL and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Byron, a sister, Audrey and a nephew, Jeffrey.

Larry attended Findlay schools and graduated from Eastern Illinois University, where he earned a B.S. in Physics and Education. He served in the United States Navy and he retired from Shell Chemical Company as a manager.
