Larry W. Toombs 52 of Champaign, died at 8:30 P.M. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Plummerville, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 11:00A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the Church of the Living God Church, 1109 North 4th Street, Champaign, IL. Burial will at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Plummerville, Arkansas. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Toombs was born on February 18, 1954 in Morrilton, Arkansas, the son of Kenneth Toombs and Betty S. Marshall. He married Helen Smith, she survives.

Also surviving are his maternal grandmother; Susie Criswell of Springfield, Arkansas, one son; Kenyo Toombs of Champaign, IL and a daughter; Latonya Toombs of Conway, Arkansas, a step-daughter; Cynthia Smith of Rantoul, IL, two brothers; Valton Marshall and Timothy Marshall of Atlanta, Georgia, three sisters; Diane Wilson, Pamela Marshall, and Stephanie Marshall all of Champaign, IL, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandmother and paternal grandparents.

Mr. Toombs worked at Rantoul Products in Rantoul, IL. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Plummerville, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding, working with his hands and gardening.
