Larry A. Smestad, 58, of Paxton, died at 11:18 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011 at home.

A memorial service will be held July 10, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the I Hotel in the Illinois Ballroom.

Larry Allan Smestad was born July 7, 1952 in Breckenridge, MN a son of Blair and Lois Danielson Smestad. He married Tammy Singer-Kern October 25, 2008 in Champaign. She survives.

He is survived by his mother; two step sons, Travis Kern of Mackinaw, IL and Tyler Kern of Deer Creek, IL; a sister Ann King of Arlington, TX; a brother Brad Smestad of Princeton, IN; four nieces; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Smestad and a nephew.

Larry worked as a Courier for Fed Ex for 27 years. He was a member of the Champaign Seventh Day Adventist Church.
