Larry L. Peters 67 of Urbana died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at home.

Larry was born on October 13, 1940, to Lawrence A. Peters and Ella D. (Willms) Peters, in Champaign, Illinois, the youngest of eight children. He is survived by his wife Gillian D. Peters and his son, Christopher S. Peters. Also surviving are two sisters, Lucille (Richard) York of Champaign, Lorena (Jack) McClain of Mahomet, and one brother, Lawrence J. (Mary) Peters of Champaign, Illinois. He was predeceased by his parents, a son, William Lee Peters, and four sisters, Ladonna Allen, Lavalla Whited, Louella (Sissy) Deener, and Lela Karr. Larry Peters was a well known figure in Champaign-Urbana. He was a Champaign Police Officer for ten years from 1967 to 1976. He owned several furniture businesses in Champaign-Urbana for 30 years. For the last five years Mr. Peters was a Realtor/Broker and owned Larry L. Peters Realty in Champaign-Urbana. There is will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements have been made at Renner-Wikoff. A private burial will be at Grandview Gardens where he will be buried next to his son. A celebration of life will be held on July 25, 2008, at his home, from 4 - 8 p.m.
