Larry Ernest Ostendorf, 74, of St. Joseph, formerly of Urbana, passed away at 6:20 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Illini Heritage Nursing Home in Champaign.

Larry was born October 28, 1940 in Olney, Illinois to parents Charles and Vera (Lanear) Ostendorf. He married Mary Flesner December 22, 1962. She survives. Also surviving are son, Brian Ostendorf (Dorsey), of Champaign, Illinois, one grandchild, Kyle, and one great-grandchild, Logan. His parents, one brother, and one daughter preceded him in death.

After graduating from high school, Larry worked as a driver for Global Van Lines. Then, in 1966, he started work as a fireman for Urbana. He retired after 29 years.

Larry enjoyed fishing, woodworking, watching M.A.S.H. and the Morning News With Robin Reed, and searching for Bigfoot. He especially loved spending time with his grandson, Kyle.
