Larry W. Long, 72 of Champaign, IL passed away at 1:56 P.M on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m, Monday, January 14, 2013 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Rev. Jim Blue will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 71. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5 p.m-7 p.m at the funeral home.

Mr. Long was born in Atwood IL on January 18,1940 to parents Jesse and Jean (Glading) Long. On February 21, 1970 he married Linda Wilson in Urbana. She survives. Also surviving our his four children, Kyle Long of Olathe Kansas, Toni Windham of El Paso Texas, Susan Long of Dewey Illinois and Carla Long of El Paso Texas, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ray Long.

Larry graduated from Champaign Central High School, where upon graduating entered into the United Stated Airforce. After being discharged, Mr. Long worked for the U.S Postal Service as a mail carrier for fifty-one years. He was a member of Amvets and also coached little league for twelve years.

Larry was a simple man, who loved his St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and Fighting Illini.
