Larry A. Book, 80, of Urbana died at 1:31 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Private family services will be held. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Book was born on December 19, 1935 in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Walter Book and Novella (Silvers) Book. He married Marlene Brinkman on September 1, 1956 in Chicago. She survives.

Also surviving are three children: Thomas (Ruth) Book of Urbana, Gayle Silvers of Largo, Florida, and Wesley (Kim) Book of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. Book retired from the State of Illinois as an auditor. He was a skilled handyman, enjoyed collecting coins and memorabilia, and loved gardening.
