Lancer M. Cooper 95, of Urbana died at 10:41 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cooper was born on April 17, 1920 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of Herbert McEwen and Gertrude Cooper Donahue. He married Betty Jane Edwards on July 4, 1942 in Urbana; she died in July 3, 1989.

Survivors include one son; Frank Cooper of Urbana, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by; one son, one daughter, two half brothers and one half sister.

Mr. Cooper retired as a music teacher from Eater JR. High School in Rantoul.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Urbana.

Mr. Cooper loved music and playing the guitar.
