Kenneth J. Martinsen, 57, of Champaign, died at 6:14 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Bible Baptist Church, Champaign. The Rev. Rick Bloom will officiate. Burial will be in Monticello Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Mr. Martinsen was born on August 22, 1951 in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Audrey Mae Myers Gottula. He married Marcia Fogel on January 3, 1981 in Champaign, she survives.

Also surviving are; one son; Ray (Sarah) Martinsen of Champaign, three sisters; Charlotte Boswell and Cathy Gwyn of Columbia, South Carolina and Donna Cain of Potomac and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Martinsen retired from Kraft as a machine operator.

He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Champaign and enjoyed t.v., refinishing furniture, yard work, and was an Illini, Cubs and Bears fan.
