Kay Allene Evans Weidert died Friday, February 3, 2017. Kay was born September 17, 1937 in Indiana. She grew up in Watseka, IL, and there married Alan Roy Weidert in 1958. Kay and Alan moved to Urbana, where they resided the rest of their lives. As a proud 1958 graduate of the Julia F. Burnham School of Nursing, Kay started her career as an RN at Burnham City Hospital, continuing through the merger, until her retirement. She fiercely loved her friends and family, and she will be remembered for her sense of humor and direct approach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan, in 2014. Kay will be greatly missed by her son, Clinton Weidert (Lori), of Urbana and daughter, Karla VanEgmond (Wayne), of Greensboro, NC. Kay leaves four grandchildren: Jennifer Carr (Bill), Craig Weidert, Mary VanEgmond, and Amy Arruda (Chris), of which she was always very proud. She was also blessed to include Brian Jolley and Will Carr in her fold. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization of donor's choice. Visitation will be at Renner Wikoff Chapel in Urbana, Thursday, February 9, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00p.m., with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.renner-wikoffchapel.com.
