Kay Derossett, 57, of Urbana, formerly of Fairbury, passed away on April 3, 2015 at her home.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M.-8:00P.M. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd. in Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 W. Cherry St. in Fairbury. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A. M. at the church. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Kay was born on September 13, 1957 in Paxton, Illinois to parents Arthur and Phyllis (Eilers) Smith. Arthur preceded her in death. Phyllis survives. On October 22, 1994, Kay married Jesse Derossett in Urbana; he passed away on June 26, 2011.
She is survived by her brother, Kevin (Heather) Smith of Pontiac, step daughters, Michelle (Mike Erwin) Trowbridge of Urbana, Angie (Michael Gudgel) Derossett of St. Joseph, three step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her best friend Kathy Freese.
Kay was a 1975 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsy High School, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairbury and worked as a supervisor for the cable company for thirty years.
