Kathryn Ann Boyer, 66, of Urbana passed away at 6:25 p.m. on October 29, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Dr. D. Brandon Shaw will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview after the funeral. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the funeral home.

Kathy was born on December 22, 1950 in Champaign to parents Dale and Wanda (Roughton) Boyer. They preceded her in death.

She is survived by her siblings; Henry (Karoline) Sadler of Los Alamitos, CA, Sue Standifer of Urbana and Jody Recor of West Lake Village, CA. Her nieces and nephews; Talor (Tim) Ray, Mason Ray, Shanna Standifer, Zane Richardson, Lucy Walsh, Grace (Thomas) Guindon and Spencer Recor also survive her.

Kathy made her home at the Devonshire CILA in Champaign. She worked as a contract employee for Developmental Services Center (DSC), McKinley Building #3 in Champaign. Kathy also volunteered at the Vineyard Church Food Pantry.

Kathy attended the Vineyard Church in Urbana and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed country music, traveling, shopping and having lunch with family and friends.

She participated in the Special Olympics where she won eleven gold medals in Boche Ball. She also participated in the CU Special Rec for Boche Ball.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DSC or to the Special Olympics.
