URBANA, IL- Kathleen Ann Schackart, 65, of Urbana, IL, passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital on February 28, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview, IL. Visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M., Sunday (March 4) at the funeral home.

Kathy was born June 4, 1946, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Charles and Mary (Mulcahy) Miller. She graduated from Mother McCauly High School in 1964 and attended Prairie State College from 1975-76. Kathy was a professional resume writer and was a member of the Professional Resume Writers Association. She had home-schooled her children and enjoyed making jewelry, crochet, sewing, reading, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, two daughters, Kristina Schackart and Laurie Rosson, both of Champaign, IL, and a granddaughter, Lily, and three sons: Terry Peterson of Colorado, Robert Peterson of Los Angeles, CA and Richard Schackart of Champaign, IL. Also surviving is her mother, Mary Miller of Urbana, and sisters, Diane Pomykalski of Auburndale, Fla. and Carol Sumbry of Waukesba, WI.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Mary.

Kathy was a strong Christian woman who loved children and felt her primary mission in life was to be a mom. She was loved by all who knew her and touched many lives. She will be greatly missed.
