Obituary

Kathleen Anstine, 67 years old, died July 28, 2012 at Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy, Illinois. Memorial services will be held at Twin City Bible Church (TCBC), 806 W. Michigan Avenue, Urbana, IL on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Visitation will be at 5:30pm and memorial services at 7:00pm at TCBC. Dr. David Webb will be officiating, assisted by Senior Pastor, Shannon Caughey. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, arrangements pending.

Kathleen was born June 9, 1945, daughter of Ralph Christy and Mary Ann Anstine. Survivors include her brother, Richard Anstine, and sister-in-law, Francesca Allegri (Anstine) of Chapel Hill, NC. Also surviving is a niece, Heather Bass, of Frisco, Texas, her nephew, Christopher Anstine, and her niece, Mary Ann Anstine, both of Chapel Hill, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, Ralph, Jr., and younger sister, Shirley.

Kathleen graduated from Champaign Central High School in 1963 and James Ward Thorne School of Nursing at Northwestern University in 1966. She worked as a registered nurse in Chicago for 14 years. In 1979 she returned to Champaign, where she then attended Parkland College and received her Associate's Degree in General Studies in 1986. She worked in nursing at McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1983 to 1998, when she retired on disability.

Kathleen was an active member of Twin City Bible Church for 33 years. She participated on the prayer chain and attended weekly prayer meetings. She also worked in the nursery, sang in the choir and faithfully participated in a small group. Kathleen especially enjoyed sending encouraging notes and cards, giving birthday and anniversary greetings to her church family members, and visiting on the phone with friends. She also attended Bible Study Fellowship for six years. Kathleen was an enthusiastic listener to programs on Great News Radio, WGNN.

In lieu of flowers, Kathleen requested memorial gifts to be made to Twin City Bible Church. Funeral arrangements handled by Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL..
