Karley Ann
Shan
Aug 4, 1998 — Dec 3, 2017
Karley Ann Shan, 19, of Champaign, formerly of Urbana passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Pastor Tyson Olheiser will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview, following the funeral.
Karley was born in Peru, IL on August 4, 1998.
She is survived by her Mom, Karen (Buffo) Shan (Sam) of Champaign, her Dad Jerry Shan II (Desa) of LaSalle, her siblings; Jerry Shan III of Harvey, Sara Buffo of Champaign, Michael Shan of Spring Valley, Ashley Shan of Spring Valley, Adrian Shan of Jupiter, FL and Amanda Riordan (Adam) of Urbana. Maternal grandparents Donald and Idabelle Buffo, paternal grandmother Nancy Shan, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, her boyfriend, Brad Faulkner and her dog Charles also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jerry Shan Sr.
Karley attended Urbana High School and had recently started management training at Domino's Pizza.
Karley didn't like sports, camping, or touching raw meat. A girl through and through, she liked pretty dresses, shoes, and shopping. Karley was always thinking of or taking new adventures. This always scared us. But Karley always knew she had her family to come home to if things didn't go as planned.
Her life ended too soon, but her life was worth every minute she was here because she loved and was loved by so many. If she hadn't been alive, so many lives may never have been connected. And now even in her death she is continuing to connect lives together through her organ donations.
Karley was, is, and forever will be extraordinary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Karley's family to help with final expenses.
