Karla Jean Sullivan, 61, of Urbana died 5:30 p.m. Thursday, August 14 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana. Visitation will be at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 405 W. Clark, Champaign. The Rev. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign, The Rev. Father John Manning will officiate.

Ms. Sullivan was born May 5, 1947 in Urbana, the daughter of Wendell Sullivan and the late Helen (Whitlatch) Sullivan.

She is survived by her father and step mother, Wendell and Betty (Schoch) Sullivan of Champaign, sisters; Sherri Paris (Kent) of Urbana, step sisters, Angie Manning (John) of Champaign, Susan Phelps (Randy) of Congerville, step brother, Donavon Schoch (Malia) of Peoria, a niece, Cathy Grove (John) of McHenry, nephews, Andrew Paris (Erin) of Champaign, Daniel Paris (Sabrina) of Mahomet, great nieces, Ashley, Katelyn, Audrey and Anna, and great nephews, Nick and Adam.

She is preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandmother, Pauline Whitlatch Hart; maternal grandfather, Harold F. Whitlatch; paternal grandfather, Stephen Sullivan; paternal grandmother, Nola Sullivan.

Ms. Sullivan was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Champaign. She enjoyed reading, computer, genealogy, and loved her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She had a strong and passionate commitment to God and family.
