June F. Otey, 93, of Urbana died at 2:11 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Private family services were held at Mt. Hope Mausoleum, Champaign. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Otey was born on October 9, 1920 in Urbana the daughter of Ulysses and Mertie Mae Smith Teater. She married Wayne Otey on September 6, 1946 in Kankakee; he died on February 13, 2003.

Survivors include her daughters; Linda Otey of Chicago, Trudy Atkins of Austin, Texas and Nancy Travers of Rochester, New York, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Otey was a member of First Baptist Church of Champaign at Savoy and the Junior League. She was a volunteer at the Champaign County Nursing Home and she loved music, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
