Julia Marie Norwood 93 of Savoy, Il, formerly of Urbana, IL passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 at the Champaign Urbana Nursing and Rehab Center. Julia was born July 20, 1920 in Champaign to Fred Wilcox Daniels and Lillie Betz Daniels. Surviving is one daughter Nancy Mulvany (Dennis), 3 grandchildren, Cynthia Akins (Bill) of Naperville, Jennifer Childress (Bryan) of Wheaton, and Kirk Mulvany (Kira) of Springfield. 7 great grandchildren, Emily & Matt Akins, Jamie & Jacob Childress, and Alexa, Jillian, & Quinn Mulvany. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Edith Daniels of Savoy, niece Barbara Cook and nephew Jeff Daniels. Julia worked at Carle Clinic for 35 years until she retired in 1987. She has been a member of the Champaign Presbyterian Church since 1929. Julia loved to sew and crochet and made many beautiful things that she shared with her family. She was also an avid gardener. She was passionate about Illini sports and the Chief. She especially enjoyed volleyball, football, and girls' basketball games. Julia was a member of the Networkers, Rebounders, Elks Ladies, Red Haters, and Jr. Women's Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Eugene Daniels Per Julia's request there will be no service. The family will gather for a celebration of her life at a later date.
