Obituary

Judith "Judy" Ann Irick, 69, of Fithian, formerly of Urbana, died peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2015, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana. Rev. Fr. Joseph Hogan will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana. Family requests casual attire for the visitation. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pesotum.

Judy was born on March 24, 1945 in Urbana to Wilbert and Anna (Lewis) Mayer. They preceded her in death. Also preceding Judy in death was her brother, Mike Mayer.

Judy is survived by her children, Amy (Rich) McQueen of Urbana, Meg Irick of Plainfield, Rob (Nicole) Irick of Fithian, six grandchildren; Cole, Cora, Kailey, Cassidy, Matthew and William and her devoted companion and close friend, C. David Well. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill (Peggy) Mayer of Champaign, Greg (Rose Bellamy) Mayer of St. Joseph, sister Terri (Greg) Henady of Port Charlotte, FL, sister-in-law Donna Mayer of Champaign as well as 8 nieces and 3 nephews.

Judy graduated as valedictorian from Villa Grove High School in 1963. After high school she went to Mercy School of Nursing, graduating in 1966. She worked at Mercy Hospital and Christie Clinic before starting a family. Later she worked at Cole Hospital until it closed. In 2010, Judy retired from Provena Covenant Medical Center.

Judy was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Urbana. She loved spending time with her grandkids, enjoyed gardening and her cats. She also had quite a sweet tooth and loved her candy and ice cream. Judy was an avid Illini fan.

Due to Judy's illness and memory loss her family requests a written memory of a time with Judy. Memorial Contributions may be made in Judy's name to Champaign County Humane Society, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Presence Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
