Obituary

Jon A. Robinson 41 of Urbana passed away at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, following a 7-month battle with cancer.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Danville. Concelebrating will be Fr. Eric Underwood, Fr. Paul Faulstich S.J. and Fr. Gregory Nelson. Private graveside services will precede the Mass and will be held in Resurrection Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. A rosary will be celebrated at 8:00 p.m. by Rev. Fr. Eric Underwood.

Jon was born on March 24, 1967 in Orono, Maine, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson Robinson. He married Julie Faulstich on August 31, 1996 in Orono, Maine, she survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Enfield, Maine, his son; Owen Robinson of Urbana, his brother; Jay (Erica) Robinson of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, sister-in-law Mary Beth (Theo) van Wijk, sister-in-law Laura (Shad) Etchason, father-in-law and mother-in-law Bill and Cathy Faulstich, nephews and nieces Aeneas Robinson, Aiden Etchason, Aria van Wijk, Haley Etchason, Aela Robinson and Eli Etchason.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jon was a building services foreman at the University of Illinois. He enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and a devout supporter of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Champaign Public Library, Urbana Free Library or Carle Hospice.
