John Ray Rains 57, of Champaign died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, December, 2008 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign. The Rev. Ann Burger will officiate. There will be no visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rains was born on August 10, 1951 in Champaign, the son of John Harrison and Ruth Ringland Rains.

Survivors include his mother of Champaign.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Rains was an assistant at Hendrick House.

He enjoyed fishing.
