John C. Peterson, 57 of Champaign died on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at home.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at St. John The Divine Episcopal Church, Champaign, the Rev. Fr. Timothy Hallett will officiate. Inurnment will be held at the church. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peterson was born on June 24, 1950 in Urbana, the son of John Stanley and Wanda Nadine Fairfield Peterson.

Survivors include sister; Lori (Rick) Rinehart of Paxton, niece; Amy and nephew; Stan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Peterson graduated from Augustana College with honors and attended Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.

He had worked for the Social Security Administration in both the Peru and Champaign offices, as well as in other service related areas. He enjoyed helping others.

Mr. Peterson was a member of St. John The Divine Episcopal Church Champaign.
