John Thomas McClain-Crook, 15, of Urbana, passed away at 7:07 a.m., January 26, 2018 after a nine-month battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Ricky Spindler will officiate.

John was born June 10, 2002 in Urbana, Illinois to parents Stacey and Jason Crook; they survive. Also surviving are siblings, Austin and Savannah McClain-Crook. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Barbara McClain, and paternal grandparents, Tim and Paula Cook. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David McClain.

John enjoyed many things most kids his age enjoy- playing videogames, listening and dancing to music, and telling stories. He also loved camping and fishing, which gave him many opportunities to study bugs. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Though John was young, he made an impact on many lives. He was dearly loved by his entire family and will be deeply missed.
