Jobie D. Spencer 84 of Urbana passed away at 9:39 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Aspen Creek, Tolono.

Jobie was born June 8, 1931 in Stronghurst to Ralph and Della Marie Cue Spencer. He married Cinda Pippenger in 1975 in Urbana. He is survived by Cinda, one son; Corey (Teadora) Spencer of Rantoul, one brother; Elmer Spencer of Shellsburg, Iowa, one sister; Evalyn Ehlers of Lakeland, Florida and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

Jobie served in the Army in the Korean War. He graduated from University High School and the University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering in 1961. He started KESKO Engineering and Spencer Engineering, worked for Hasnvet Engineering, Rhino Robots, Talkies and U of I Facilities and Services for 20 years as an electrical engineer.

Jobie enjoyed blacksmithing, working in his machine shop, steam and antique engine shows, reading and most important being an Abraham Lincoln reenactor.

A memorial service for "A. Lincoln" will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 15 at 904 Burkwood Drive, Urbana, IL 61801. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
