Joann E. Ohman, 82 of Urbana passed away at 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, March
31, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Memorial services will
be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church,
701 E. Florida Ave, Urbana, with visitation from 10:30 until service
time. Pastor Shawn Boylan will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn
Cemetery, Urbana.

Joann was born July 21, 1936 in Chicago to Frank and Lorena Winter.
She married the love of her life, Reverend Floyd A. Ohman, on June 2,
1957 in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death, as did her daughter,
Faith Johnson. Joann is survived by her son Mark Ohman; grandchildren
Tesa White, Kristina Norris, Jamie Sosamon and Amber Pellett; sisters
Ivy Winter and Pauline Vasquez; adoring great-grandchildren Zachary, Sophie,
Nicholas, Justice, Conner, Noah, and Alexander; and extended family including
Jon and Kim Kersey, Kenneth, Uriah, Charity, Alyshia and Jaden.

Joann was a dedicated worker, first as a pastor's wife and mother, and
proudly retired as a transporter from Carle Hospital, where she
continued to volunteer for many years. She was a godly woman who loved
church and singing in the choir.

Joann, or "Gramma Jo," left a special imprint on the lives of everyone
she came into contact with. She had such a genuinely compassionate and
selfless spirit that filled up every room she entered. She had so many
special sayings, songs and mannerisms that we loved her all the more
dearly for and will carry in our hearts always. She brought us
together, made us stronger, and helped us see the good in ourselves
even when we couldn't. She was a tremendous example of love, courage
and strength for our entire family, and a dear friend to so many.
