Joan Elizabeth Klein, 57 of Urbana died at 9:54 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Joan was born on July 1, 1952 in Chicago, the daughter of John L. and Catherine A. O'Dell Pierce. She married Marshall Klein on June 10, 2006 in Urbana, he survives.

Also surviving are two sons; Scott D. Pease of Villa Grove and Eric W. Pease of Urbana, one step son; Ryan Klein of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one step daughter; Melinda Klein of Bement, one brother; William Pierce of Urbana and two grandchildren; Hayden McCabe and Kaylea Pease.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Joan was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She loved to cook and sew. Joan worked at the U of I for 9 years and was a professional house cleaner before that. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.
