Jo Ann Buller, 85, of St. Joseph, passed away at 10:28 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home with loved ones by her side. A memorial reception will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory Thursday, August 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Ms. Buller's cremated remains will be buried in Clements Cemetery in Urbana at a later date.

Jo Ann was born April 4, 1932 in Urbana, Illinois to parents John and Myrtle (Johnson) Slade. They preceded her in death. Survivors include six children: George Walker (Janice), of Urbana, Illinois, Leland Walker (Cheryl), of Broadlands, Illinois, Sherald Koliboski, of Moreno Valley, California, Gale Miller, of Atlanta, Georgia, Tammy Bedell (William), of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Tracy Lee, of Carlyle, Illinois. Jo Ann is also survived by two siblings, John Slade, of Urbana, Illinois, and Rosemary Meister, of Fort Meyers, Florida. Fifteen grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive. Jo Ann was preceded in death by one daughter, Marcia Vincent, and two sisters, Violet Evans and Dolly Ducker.

Ms. Buller was self-employed as a professional housekeeper. She continued in this line of work for more than 45 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, vacationing in Las Vegas, and travelling the U.S. to visit her family. Halloween was her favorite holiday by far, with Christmas coming in at a distant second. She was a great cook and her homemade pie crusts were legendary.

She was the matriarch of the family and lived her life as a rock for her family. Though her family is comforted that she lived a long, fulfilling life, they will still miss her deeply.
