Jim (James R.) Campbell passed away Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016 at Presence Hospital.

A celebration of Jim's life will be Saturday, May 14th from 5 to 7 PM at Renner-Wikoff Funeral Home.

Jim was born August 24, 1937 in Rolla, Missouri the son of Avo and R.B (Jack) Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ron and brother Ralph. Jim leaves behind his wife Lois Sizemore whom he married on June 9, 1956 in Urbana, daughter Robin Holcombe (Sam) of Summerland, California, two granddaughters, Michelle and Kara Gross both of Los Angeles, California, a brother Steve (Diann Lancaster) of Urbana and three nieces and three nephews. Many great-nieces and nephews.

Jim graduated from Urbana High School in 1955. He was an avid Nascar fan and cheered for #24 Jeff Gordon, much to his brother Steve's dismay. He enjoyed rooting for the Cardinals.

He retired from Northern Illinois Water Company in 1992. His two favorite hobbies were washing the cars and mowing his yard.

His family was always a major part of his life. For years Uncle Jim carried an extra $200 in his billfold to bail out any of his nieces or nephews and never had to use it. Once they were all grown he took the $200 out of his billfold and said "Now they are on their own."

He will be missed by his family, his friends and his neighbors.
